Welcome to the Sociopolitical Controversies blog...

As the world enters the 21st Century, technology (i.e., the internet, television) and trade have ushered in a global 'connectedness' that humanity, or the average person, has not known before. In particular the proliferation of computers, and the internet, have opened a new portal for human interaction. Now people all over the world are interacting online and exchanging ideas. I find this intriguing, I've been involved in computer technology for many years and I've watched the emergence of online interaction, because I work and live in Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, USA. This blog is intended for healthy interaction regarding social and political controversies - not a war, but a discussion.

Needless to say, people have widely divergent thoughts and convictions about social and political issues, but I hope intelligence and goodwill will prevail. I believe this type of forum can help those of us who want to, to understand one another better, develop friendships and grow.

So feel free to post your opinions and concerns and be open to interacting with others who may disagree with you, but let's keep it intelligent and intersting and not degenerate into a spitting contest. No hatred or bitter invective please.

You have the floor.
